Carrot Learning
UX, UI and brand design for a new company within the educational and professional development industry.
I worked with the owners to create a full brand concept for this new company. Output included a range of concepts, a full suite of logos, branding and the creation of a website. The company now attracts business with the Department of Health and Social Care, NHS England and multiple universities.
Carrot Learning is a platform for bespoke online courses that use Twitter and social media to aid with learning. The branding, name, slogan and website were designed from scratch with the knowledge that Twitter would be the main point of interaction after the website. So, rather than building a brand and trying to make it look good on social platforms afterwards, the opposite approach was taken. To begin with, tests were done to work out what colours were going to stand out in such a busy digital space. This led to the orange and green colour palate that launched the rest of the branding. Due to the social and informal method of teaching, a fun and simple business name and slogan were used.
Once some brand guidelines had been formed it was time to work on the website. The aim was to create a space where new courses run by the company would be displayed and individuals would be able to sign up. This is how their digital tools had been used in the past via a large networking group originally created by the parent company of Carrot Learning. Whilst a B2C relationship had been how the tools were originally created, the clients were open to the idea of B2B in the future. Rather than leaving the opportunity for B2B up to the wind, a dedicated space on the website was created to encourage other businesses to interact with Carrot and find out more. This has resulted in 75% of revenue in the past year now coming from business-to-business relationships.
