PoSB design competition
Creating a design competition to help raise funds for a University course.
During the final year of studying product design at London South Bank, the university would present student work at a degree show if they funded it themselves. So, to help the class of 2021 meet this challenge I was asked to come back and assist in their efforts. I decided to create a competition within the design courses through the use of an online shop. This meant that students could submit graphic work of any type with descriptions and additional details into a database I had created so that they would be uploaded onto products to sell within this digital shop.
These products were print on demand meaning no upfront cost to overcome and all the commotion made from the sales would be put towards helping the students fund their event. Four awards were designed and created to incentivise students to participate:
Above and Beyond - This reward will be given to the person who goes above and beyond in both the quality and quantity of work produced.
The Influencer - This reward will be given to the person who we can see advertising the most, creating interesting marketing strategies and drawing in customers to the account.
Trend Setter - The person who gets the most sales on a singular product/graphic.
Commission King/Queen - The person who draws in the highest revenue at the end of the competition.
Once the competition was over and the funding achieved, I had the pleasure of presenting and handing out the awards at the degree show to all the students that had put in lots of work when creating content for the shop. Given the great success that the shop received, it is still open and and available to order from so do feel free to give it a browse! Graphics of work below have been created by students and not myself.
